PTO Openings for the 2017-2018 School Year
Walkathon: This committee is active in the late summer/ fall coordinating Horizon’s only direct-donation fundraiser. This committee needs a chairperson or co-chairs who can plan the event. Many people are available to assist with tasks!!
Newsletter: This person is responsible for creating our monthly PTO newsletter. All content is provided, and our newsletters are produced every month (with the exception of December and summer months), usually around the middle of the month. The current newsletter producer can provide the InDesign template she uses or you can make it your own using any software you choose.
School Supply Kits: This chair coordinates the spring sale and fall delivery of school supply kits. Kits are made up of items from the school supply list and give parents the opportunity to avoid the lines and cost of buying them in stores. Active for a short time in the spring and right before school starts.
Cultural Arts: This leader schedules PTO-sponsored cultural arts events, such as the Old Creamery Theatre performance for the school (in late March). There is an open house event (Fine Arts Night, held in early May) where our students showcase their amazing artistic talents! The committee chair works with the Art Department and other volunteers to promote the event and provide refreshments. Most active in the spring, mid-April to May.
